Tyrepower Returns to the Tasmania Super440: A Familiar Name in a New Arrangement
The annual Tasmania Supercars round welcomes back a familiar name as the naming rights partner for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. Tyrepower, a well-known supporter of the Tassie race in the 2010s, is set to return to Symmons Plains Raceway, the shortest track on the calendar.
This marks a significant moment for the event, which has been a staple of Tasmanian racing for decades. Since the race's absence during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been supported by NED Whisky and Snowy River Caravans. Now, Tyrepower's return signifies a renewed commitment to the event's legacy.
Supercars Chief Revenue Officer Jamie Black expressed his excitement, stating, 'We're thrilled to welcome Tyrepower back as our naming rights partner. Their support is invaluable, and we're grateful for their dedication to the Tyrepower Tasmania Super440.'
Symmons Plains Raceway is renowned for its intense door-to-door racing, as evidenced by last year's thrilling finish between Matt Payne and Broc Feeney. This year, the Tasmania Super440 will take place from May 22-24, marking the venue's 100th ATCC/Supercars Championship race, a milestone shared only by Wanneroo Raceway.
This return to Symmons Plains promises an exciting future for Tasmanian racing fans, offering a unique blend of tradition and innovation.
