Kitchenhand Charged with Attempted Murder of Waitress in Brisbane (2026)

A Brisbane kitchenhand has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to kill a waitress at a local leagues club, just hours after being fired for inappropriate behavior. The 33-year-old, identified as Cameron Clark, returned to the Easts Leagues Club in Coorparoo with a carving knife, targeting a 20-year-old colleague. The waitress was stabbed multiple times, including in the head, hands, and wrist, while a chef who intervened was also injured. The incident unfolded in front of dozens of patrons, who quickly restrained Clark before police arrived. Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham emphasized the impact of the event, stating, 'This is a life-altering event for everyone in the club yesterday afternoon.' The victim, from Norman Park, underwent surgery and is in a stable condition. Clark, who remains in hospital under police guard, faces charges including attempted murder, unlawful stalking, and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm. He is set to appear in court on Monday. The leagues club, which reopened today, is providing support to its staff.
